It's about god d*** time!

From the desk of Majken Zein Sorensen.
Hi there,
Recently I read the book De [Grønlandske] - The [Greenlandic] - in which young Greenlanders tell about some of the experiences they’ve had with Denmark and the Danes. The writers do an excellent job; however, it’s still quite a painful read since many - or rather, all - of them have experienced several episodes in which Danes have spoken ill to them or about them.
On a positive note, though, the Greenlandic authors still underline that all they want is to have a good relationship with the Danes, and throughout the pages they offer an outstretched hand, which, I believe, is truly impressive given what they’ve endured.
I wish more Danes would start learning about our fellow citizens up north.
I wish the official Danish media would start bombarding us Danes with information about what happens in the lives of Greenlandic people on an everyday level, not just the breaking news. I wish that they’d weave our two countries together in a common media thread.
I wish both Danes and Greenlanders could buy ridiculously cheap flight tickets when travelling between the two countries, so going to Nuuk/Copenhagen would be as inexpensive as riding the train from Aalborg to Odense on a low-price day.
I wish we would once reach a point when Greenland becomes a natural part of the picture Danes get in their heads when they think about all their fellow countrymen and -women.
And yes, I am aware that the present geopolitical situation may change sometime in the future.
But now, here, today, we are connected, and our connection stretches back hundreds of years.
We Danes, each one of us, need to take this connection, this relationship, seriously. (If I were the swearing type, I’d say it’s about god damn time!)
We could gain so much from each other if we wanted to, I’m sure.
"When we meet one another with genuine interest and respect—without bringing old preconceptions and power dynamics into the room—we have the opportunity to see each other as we truly are. Not through a filter of history, stereotypes, or expectations, but as human beings with our own experiences, dreams, and vulnerabilities."

SILA
“SILA is a tender, nonlinear documentary that explores Inuit wisdom and 300 years of Danish colonialism in Greenland. The film centers the voices of Inuit women and elders as they navigate the traumatic legacy of historical medical abuses while reclaiming their traditional ceremonies, drumbeats, and ancestral body markings.”
