Hi there,
March is here, spring has arrived, and it’s time for the next season of my blog. Thanks for being here, it’s great to see you!
Lately, I’ve been thinking about ‘antidotes to a world that seems to be spinning out of control’.
Our planet is on a wild ride these days, right?
So, how can you stay sane? - I ask myself.
It’s not easy, I get that.
Still, it is possible to do something. And doing something is, indeed, a way to move forward.
I came to think about some wise words I once read by the American coach, Martha Beck. She speaks about how to deal with anxiety - anxiety as in “like being haunted by constant dread and worry about threats that may - or may not - happen.” Which, I guess, also covers a state of on and off alertness because of round-the-clock ‘breaking news’ on different online platforms.
Beck explains that there is a way to reach the opposite of anxiety, and to my surprise, she doesn’t talk about being calm.
She talks about being creative.
“Psychologists have shown that we can’t be creative when we’re anxious,” Beck says and continues explaining how the opposite is true as well; we can’t be anxious when we’re being creative.
The two conditions cannot exist at the same time.
Beck suggests you try this: “The next time you do something creative, really get into it. It can be cooking, gardening, putting together a playlist or organizing a dinner party. Whatever it is, as you finish it, notice how you experience no anxiety while you were creating.”
(Most possibly, you weren’t thinking about the latest breaking news either.)
This season, I’ve named my blog “Things that inspire me these days.”
I'll share with you things that make me feel alive and vibrant, and things that fill me with hope, things that make me wonder and things that calm me down, things that get me in a curious and creative mode and - not least - things that put a big fat smile on my face.
I’ve stubbornly set my inner compass on a course of Love, Laughter and deep Listening, which are qualities I feel I need to nurture even more these days.
Perhaps you do too?
I am, as always, very much looking forward to sharing all the inputs I come across with you.
So, let’s dive in, let’s move forward, let’s do something, big or small, to help ourselves and each other to keep noticing what an amazing place this world is and how lucky we are to be here.
Majken xx

And, lastly, a gentle suggestion for you to turn off the screen, get out into the real world and do something (else than scrolling). Here's an idea:

Aktivitetskort Naturen, Nicotext.
*Look under a rock. *What do you see? *Draw, take a photo or write about your findings.
Until next time,

On my blog I share ‘Things that Inspire Me These Days’ - which basically are: things that make me feel alive and vibrant, and things that fill me with hope, things that make me wonder and things that calm me down, things that get me in a curious and creative mode and things that put a big fat smile on my face.
I believe I need all that - especially these days where the world seems to be spinning faster than usual.
Perhaps you need it too?
