Hi there,

In celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day back in March 2020, the art-video She Never Dances Alone was shown in Times Square, NYC. In the video you see a performance of a jingle dress dance – a woman’s healing ritual performed at powwows – by the dancer Sarah Ortegon. The art-video is “an ancestral call for strength and healing for all Indigenous people,” the director, Jeffrey Gibson, explains, and in particular, “a recognition of the power of Indigenous women.” Gibson is a member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and of Cherokee descent.

The Presence of Wonder

Find yourself a piece of paper and a pencil.

List five things that always and immediately bring a smile to your face.

Place the list somewhere you can see it.

Until next time,

On my blog I share ‘Things that Inspire Me These Days’

which basically are:

things that make me feel alive and vibrant,

and things that fill me with hope,

things that make me wonder,

and things that calm me down,

things that get me in a curious and creative mode,

and things that put a big fat smile on my face.

I believe I need all that.

Perhaps you need it too?
